It's Karen Tandy's job to live dangerously. Since she became the ninth administrator of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration in 2003, the 53-year old Tandy has earned a reputation as a tireless and fearless drug fighter who will go to great lengths and to any country to stanch the flow of illegal drugs on American streets. She is proud to note that not only is she the first woman to head the DEA, but that under her administration, women, for the first time, have been included in security details.
