When it comes to Tamir Sapir’s story, making it big is an understatement. He modestly attributes his rags-to-riches success to­—are you ready for this?—not brains and talent but hard work and luck. At each stage of his career, he says, he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Now, although the opening of the Sapir House museum is only months away, and although he owns some of Manhattan’s most well known commercial and residential properties, Sapir counts the three synagogues he has built as the most important accomplishments of his career.
