“My life is a combination of achievements and doing good for people,” declares Alexander Machkevitch. This is far from a boast. The billionaire industrialist and financier, is said to control up to a quarter of the economy in the former Soviet Union’s Kazakhstan. As the president of the EAJC, for the last five years Machkevitch has made it his mission to unite communities throughout the world, and to promote harmony among Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Machkevitch, who still finds himself reluctant to take credit for his endless contributions to society, and believes that good deeds are the best way to improve the world.
