Phil Friedman, president and CEO of Computer Generated Solutions, calls the Ellis Island Medal of Honor he received in 2007 the most significant award he has ever been given.  The medal pays tribute to the ancestry of groups of America’s cultural mosaic; it has been bestowed upon six U.S. presidents as well as Nobel laureates.  “It basically describes the essence of what I am.  I am an immigrant and I should never forget.  I came to this country with nothing, and this country gave me the opportunity to become somebody.
