Elliott Broidy may be a powerful man and formidable presence, but for him, actions speak louder than words. That’s why this 50-year-old entrepreneur kept a low profile during a two-year process of raising more than $800 million to create Markstone Capital Partners, a fund created in 2003 to boost investment in non-high-tech companies in Israel. At the time, Israel’s economy was suffering for a number of reasons, and Broidy took it upon himself to help out where he could. Broidy, a passionate supporter of the Jewish community internationally, is being honored by the Raoul Wallenberg Committee of the United States with the Raoul Wallenberg Award. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated courage when assisting humanity; past recipients include: Miep Gies, Senator Elizabeth Dole, and Harvey Meyerhoff.
